SOREC2 researcher defends a PhD thesis proposal aimed at reducing voltage losses in Perovskite solar cells

Martina D’Andrea, researcher at ICFO in the group of Organic Nanoestructred Photovoltaics led by Prof. Jordi Martorell, presented her PhD thesis proposal on October 2 to be approved by a panel evaluation. The title of her proposal was “Nanophotonic paths to enhance the open circuit voltage in perovskite solar cells“. This defense marks an important milestone of her research plan she is currently conducting within the SOREC2 project framework.

Serena Berardi, associate professor from the University of Ferrara (UNIFE) and SOREC2 project team member, participated in the fifth session of the outreach conference cycle, “Etanolo a 360°. Che spirito!”. The session was held on September 18th at the UNIFE facilities in Ferrara.

SOREC2 showcased at ICCDU 2025

Two members of the SOREC2 research team, Alberto Magliocco (UNIFE) and Aureliano Macili (UAB), participated in the 22nd International Conference on Carbon Dioxide Utilization (ICCDU 2025), held in Lisbon, Portugal, from 23 to 27 June.  On 26 June, they delivered each an oral presentation highlighting both the broader objectives of the SOREC2 project and specific scientific advances achieved through their current research activities.

SOREC2 organizes a multi dimensional workshop to asses the future of PEC technology

On 8 and 9 May 2025, the SOREC2 consortium, through its partner Democracy X, held a two-day Quadruple Helix Multi-Criteria Workshop at the Residence Palace in the European District of Brussels. The event focused on the future development and application of Photo-Electrochemical Cells (PECs) within the context of sustainable energy and carbon capture technologies.

SOREC2 Consortium gathers in Ferrara for 3rd general assembly

The SOREC2 consortium held its 3rd General Assembly on June 3, 2025, at the historic building of Chiostro di Santa Maria delle Grazie, part of the Polo Chimico Biomedico Mammuth of the Università degli Studi di Ferrara in Ferrara, Italy. The meeting allowed the project team to review progress, plan next steps, and discuss new strategies for the coming months.
