SOREC2 researchers at the 4th International Conference on Proton-Coupled Electron Transfer
Carolina Gimbert, member of the SOREC2 consortium from UAB, participated in the 4th International Conference on Proton-Coupled Electron Transfer (PCET4), held in Tarragona from 5th to 9th of June. Gimbert presented a poster entitled “Transferring homogeneous water splitting catalysts to the surface of electrodes.”
The poster presented examples of homogeneous catalytic systems based on molecular structures that are active hydrogen evolution catalyst. It also showed various strategies for transferring the high catalytic activity of homogeneous catalysts to electrode surfaces, including supramolecular interactions and embedding catalysts into organic semiconductors or SiO2/TiO2 matrices, and details advances in constructing a light induced water splitting device.
